Children’s Musical Theatre Workshop

Musical Theater workshops have long been a highlight of the Donna Reed Foundation’s annual summer educational experiences.

The Children’s Musical Theatre Workshops are a week-long focus on the basics of musical theatre for kids having completed grades K-8 and love singing, dancing, and challenges. The workshop culminates with a Saturday performance for students, family, friends, and the community. Recent years’ performances have included Pirates! The Musical, Disney’s Sleeping Beauty KIDS, Cinderella KIDS, and Aladdin KIDS.

While subject to change, past workshop formats consist of auditions for speaking roles during the first Monday session of the week.  All workshop participants (depending upon grade-level) participate in 2-hour (grades K-2 with parent/guardian) or 3-hour (grades 3-8) overlapping group sessions to learn skills, practice material, and perfect the collaborations for a group success at the weekend event.
